|John Gordon is new to the photo publishing world "getting his feet wet" with |
the development of this website. His photography began in the early '80's
documenting theatrical productions and creating promotional material for the
Denver Center for the Performing Arts.
In the early '90's John discovered SCUBA while on assignment in Florida, and
the consumation of photography and diving blossomed as he moved through the
ranks of becoming a diving professional. Leading trips for Denver Divers
over many years gave him the opportunity to hone the skills necessary to
capture great underwater images as well as observe the reefs and cultures of
a plethora of popular diving destinations including Akumal, Bahamas, Belize,
Bonaire, Cozumel, Cayman Islands, Florida Keys, St. Lucia, Turks & Caicos,
Channel Island, Sea of Cortez, California, Hawaii, Fiji, Indonesia, and Papua New Guinea.
In 2001 John organized the founders for the creation and development of CUPS
(Colorado Underwater Photographic Society). He worked as a liason between
CUPS and the Colorado Scuba Retailers Association in producing the Scuba
Extasea Expo's photo contest and exhibit in 2001 and 2002.
He also served
as a volunteer diver at Colorado's Ocean Journey for three-and-a-half years.
Leaving Denver in 2003 for a stint aboard the Nekton Pilot as a photo pro
and divemaster gave John extended diving and photo opportunities along with
developing a wide-range collection of Caribbean images. As he continues to
experience new dive sites, he adds his latest photos to this collection.
John Gordon has won awards in several national and international contests
including Best of Competition at the Digital Dive in 2004.
